Celebrating the life of
Dianne Jackson Rossiter
December 20, 1944 - October 02, 2026
Dianne Jackson Rossiter, 81, passed away on October 2, 2026, at Hospice Savannah, surrounded by the love of her family. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Dianne and her husband, Dick, were members of Saint Boniface Catholic Church in Springfield, Georgia.
A proud Savannah native, Dianne was the beloved daughter of the late George Embree ("Woodyard") Jackson and Elizabeth Thompson Jackson. She graduated from Savannah High School and attended South Georgia College. Her adventurous spirit led her to a career as a flight attendant with Eastern Airlines, where she developed a lifelong love of travel and of meeting people from all walks of life.
A breast cancer survivor, Dianne gave back to others facing the disease. She co-chaired the inaugural Relay for Life in Savannah, helping raise awareness and support for those affected by cancer.
Dianne was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, loved Georgia Bulldogs football, and closely tracked her grandchildren’s athletic events. She also played competitive tennis well into her later years.
Above all, Dianne will be remembered for the way she loved. She treasured family gatherings, nurtured lifelong friendships, and welcomed everyone with warmth, grace, and generosity. Nothing brought her greater joy than her husband, children, and grandchildren, and she cherished her many cousins in the Rossiter, Jackson, and Thompson families.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard (“Dick”) Rossiter; her children, Richard (“Ross”) Rossiter Jr. and his wife Anne Marie, Jodi Rossiter Hagan and her husband Matt, and Carrie Rossiter Bryant and her husband Jody; ten grandchildren, Richard (Abigail), Jackson (Julia), Stokes, Lucy, Wick, Breece, Thomas, Gabe, Embree and Beau; a great-granddaughter, Ansley; her brother, George Jackson Jr. (“Jack”) and his wife Karen; and numerous beloved cousins, relatives, and friends.
Dianne will be deeply missed. Her faith, strength, laughter, and loving spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Please join family and friends in celebrating her life with a Rosary on Monday, October 5, at 5:30 p.m., followed by visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Home, Hodgson Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint John the Baptist on Tuesday, October 6, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Catholic Cemetery.
